The place

If you would like to learn the basics of sculpting or improve your proficiency, we can offer you a tailor-made course with professionals of this art.

The course takes place in a workshop in Pietrasanta, the town gathering artists from many countries, a 15 minutes drive away from Viareggio, or 3 km away from the sea side and from the mountains where the marble is extracted.





The Artist

The course is given by the Danish sculptor of Polish origin, Andrzej Lemiszewski, who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He has been working and living in Pietrasanta for over 20 years.

He regularly takes part in exhibitions in Italy, Denmark, the US, France, Switzerland and Sweden. In 1985, he won the 1st International Proze of Sculpture in Denmark.




The program

Over this course you will be studying different aspects to understand how the sculpture takes shape. From a rough shape, with all manners of instruments, we learn how to sculpt in marble, how to create and achieve with a final touch. We can sculpt as well in the wood.

The course includes a
guided tour in the marble caves and also in the various workshops in the area, at your convenience.

- Personalized lessons : the courses may last between 2 and 4 weeks.
- Course for beginners: in groups of minimum 3 people, for a period of 3 to 5 days.

Discovery tour : 1 day including the visite of marble caves and the workshops.

Spoken languages for the course are English, Italian, Danish and Polish.
